This master’s degree is trans-disciplinary, 在上午的课上, we’d have a different block every month, 我们有能力让自己沉浸在一个话题中,然后能够切换到一个新的话题. Later, we’d compare everything when we assembled a huge main lesson book. Art and care and thoughtfulness were put into our lessons books, 这 has affected how I think and act in life.

Looking back, how does your Waldorf education benefit your life today?
我很感激当我还是个孩子的时候,我有机会做一个孩子, and not worry about homework or grades or tests. 孩子们承受了很大的压力, 特别是现在, but Waldorf managed to keep that pressure at bay, 或者至少让它易于管理.

Not too many can say they had a class dedicated to Goethe's 《澳门金沙app下载》 或但丁 地狱; though most folks also have a lot more elective freedom in high school. I've built upon that foundation in some places, and blown it up in others.

I am extremely grateful for my Waldorf education, Being challenged to create main lesson books,

My circle of friends that didn’t go to Waldorf say, “What do you mean? 你为什么这么问?” and I realize it’s just different schooling. We have such strong connections and we were all so close,

Looking back, how does your Waldorf education benefit your life today?
因为我在创意行业工作, having well-developed critical thinking abilities is a huge benefit.

Without the teachers and education I received at Waldorf,

Looking back, how does your Waldorf education benefit your life today?
I have always been very proud of my Waldorf education. The way Waldorf taught me to think for myself, 保持好奇心和创造力, has been invaluable to my education and my life. I have a lot of scattered knowledge on a wide variety of topics, which is useful when working on a news desk.

Looking back, how does your Waldorf education benefit your life today?
It made me think differently and learn differently. You couldn’t pay me any amount of money in the world today to do Eurythmy, 但是当你是青少年的时候, it’s important to learn how to pretend to like something you don’t like. That is a valuable skill in both work and personal life. I look back on the plays and acting we did every year. In public school, I wanted to be the bush in the back with one line. My first play at Waldorf was in 4th grade, and I had to play Thor and dress as a girl to get my hammer back. To this day, I don’t think I’ve ever been more nervous. Now, I enjoy public speaking and do it on a weekly basis in my job. I look back on the river trips and hiking trips we did. I enjoy the outdoors almost every weekend living in Colorado. I can’t imagine not having Waldorf open up that world to me. The outdoors is where all my favorite hobbies live.

Looking back, how does your Waldorf education benefit your life today?
I remember taking as long as we needed to make things beautiful. That appreciation of craft has carried through my life. I don’t like to just build and walk away, just check a box and move on. I want to take the time to build something we can all be happy with.

Looking back, how does your Waldorf education benefit your life today?
I would want them to go to Waldorf because of the tactility, I really live in an imaginary world of being able to do whatever I want so I’m never bored; I’m always in my imagination. 书写的事实, 绘画, drawing—the attention to not just one art form, 还有戏剧, 木工, 我知道如何使用其他材料,以及如何将它们包含在我的设计中.

Appreciation for nature immediately comes to mind. Leaving a place the way we found it and being mindful of our presence, Those lessons translated into many other aspects of my life. Even now, I notice it in my work, relationships, and lifestyle. Waldorf is really good at teaching conscientiousness, a skill that is becoming less common in our fast-paced world.

Class of 2015

圣达菲华尔道夫 taught me to think holistically. 我能读懂音乐, 拉大提琴, 用木头雕刻一张凳子, 缝衣服, 油漆, 写诗, 会说一点普通话, write/film/edit a movie and survive in the wild.

因此, separating who I am from the education I received is a difficult task, 当我们编织在一起. 这在很大程度上是由于我在K-12澳门金沙app下载和成长过程中灌输给我的价值观, values I regard with much importance in my life today.
